WHAT: Christmas in Parramatta
WHEN: Thursday 26 November 2015, 4.30pm-8.30pm
WHERE: Centenary Square, Parramatta
Parramatta will be transformed into a magical wonderland for the City’s annual Christmas celebration with snow machines, baby reindeer and live performances in Centenary Square today from 4.30pm.
‘Christmas in Parramatta’ will feature an exclusive meet and greet opportunity with the fun-loving Christmas Minions, a visit from Santa, and entertainment from Sydney Eisteddfod performers and local school choirs.
There will be a Christmas market full of delicious treats, with food stalls including Piccolo Me, The Nighthawk Diner and Sundweesh; a spectacular fireworks display; and the official lighting of the brightest tree that Parramatta has ever seen.
This evening’s program will be hosted by former Hi5 member, Tim Maddren, and will include an animal petting farm with baby reindeer, workshops for kids and an interactive 9D cinema ride with motion simulators and dramatic effects such as rain, fog and wind.
A Lord Mayor’s Gift Appeal has been established in support of the work of the Salvation Army and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Gifts for children of all ages can be donated at the event and placed under the large Parramatta Christmas tree.
